| What is the Backset? | ||
| The backset is the measurement from the edge of your door to the center of the bore hole drilled through your door. Emtek's latches are not adjustable, you must check your doors first to see which size they are prepped for and then select either 2 3/8" or 2 3/4". If your door is prepped for any other size of latch than Emtek hardware will not work on your door. | ||

| In the product descriptions we mention that your Emtek hardware is "Shipped with Mortised tubular latch (drive-in latches are available upon request)" Please read descriptions carefully so you know for sure what you are ordering. Either latch will function the same way, you just need to check your door and see which type it is prepped for. | ||

| This type of latch has a rectangular plate that goes around it making it have a nice finished look when installed. The plate that goes around the latch is often called the "face plate" or "mortise plate" Emtek's face plates are the standard size of 2 1/4"h x 1"w. | This is an example of a drive-in latch. | In the product descriptions we mention that your Emtek hardware is "Shipped with square corner strike plates (rounded corner available upon request)" The strike plate is the plate that attaches to the door jam itself. This plate is where your latch strikes and connects when you close your door. Emtek's strike plates are the standard size of 2 1/4"h | ||
