Do you have a door latch that keeps spinning in the edge of the door? This can be super frustrating because it won't let the door shut normally like it should. We get calls about this frequently and we haven't had one yet where the latch is actually defective. It's always the same issue, an oversight when installing. If your installed didn't install the faceplate, the latch will spin. Latches from certain brands are designed to rotate so they can be used on a left or right handed door. The faceplate has a flat side on the plunger hole so that the latch will remain facing the direction you need it. Surprisingly, this faceplate is often left off during installation causing aggravation to the home owner. Check out this short video that illustrates the problem and the solution.
