Weslock Molten Bronze Tramore Sideplate Lock

The door hardware is beautiful, but I have mixed feelings about it. We recently renovated our home and I purchased this style for the side doors and also ordered the Weslock Stonebriar style for my front double doors. The install was tricky even for my husband who is extremely handy and can do anything. The directions are very poor and you have to figure a lot out on your own - like removing the depth extender if your door isn’t in need of it. All of the door hardware in the two styles that we ordered are fairly stiff, but that may change over time with more use. The finish is not as “matte” as I had hoped - it’s more like a satin finish. Shortly after we installed this Molten Bronze Tramore style on one of the side doors, the exterior knob became very loose - to the point that it would come off while just pulling the door shut. Direct Hardware sent an entire door knob replacement super fast as they have great CS. Sooooooo, there are definite pros and cons, but the hardware is beautiful and provides the farmhouse look at a reasonable price. Direct Door Hardware definitely had the best price! Time will tell how well they hold up...but for now, I’m loving the look. :)

This is a flow up review from one that I posted previously. This style knob is beautiful and is heavy and feels like a solid knob set. Shortly after installing, one knob came loose and eventually came more loose with use until it finally just fell off anytime the door was pulled shut from the outside. Direct Door replaces with no questions. Now with the new set, we have a whole other issue. In 6-8 months, the finish has worn off on the interior knob. It’s a completely different color than the rest of the knob set - it looks horrible. Direct Door claims this is normal patina and this is expected of this knob set. No place can I find in the description that explains this will happen. And true patina will take longer than 6-8 month on an interior knob set. This is nothing but a cheap finish that rubs off. So please be aware if you spend this kind of money on this door knob style that you are prepared for this to happen to you as well sooner than later. Weslock needs to ensure that they are selling a better product than this because this is terrible quality.

This door knob highly complements our basement door, which is a "dungeon" style distressed mahogany door with a speakeasy. Very classy.
