Order Help

The Weslock Belmont Handleset is Available in 4 Functions:

Single Cylinder Handleset
Single Cylinder handlesets are locked/unlocked with a key from the exterior and locked/unlocked from the inside of the home with a thumbturn. (most often used)

Dummy Handleset
If you have a double front door where one side is generally inactive while the other is always active, you will need a combination of two handle sets. For the active side, you'll need a single or double cylinder handleset. For the inactive door, you'll want to order a dummy handleset. This gives you the look of a complete working set, but doesn't have all of the mechanisms - perfect for an inactive door.

Double Cylinder Handleset
A double cylinder handleset has a keyed cylinder on the inside as well as the outside. This requires a key to lock or unlock the door from both sides. We don't recommend using double cylinder handlesets on main exterior doors because if there is any emergency, a key would be required to exit the home.

Interconnect Handleset
A Single Cylinder handleset with a mechanism applied to the interior trim that, when the deadbolt is locked, turning the knob or lever from the inside will also retract the deadbolt at the same time, making exiting a one motion maneuver. This mechanism is not visible and does not effect the look of the handleset.

How to Determine Door Handing for a Weslock Belmont Handleset

When ordering lever handles or handlesets, we'll need to know the handing of your door. Door handing is the direction in which your door swings. If you order the incorrect door handing you will either have locks on the wrong side of the door, levers that are upside down, or levers that point in the wrong direction and keep the door from closing properly.

how to determine your door handing
Follow These Steps:

step 1 Stand facing the door on the outside - If it's a locking door, stand on the side of the door where you would insert a key (or unlocking tool if it would be a privacy lock).
step 2 If the hinges are on the left, it's a left hand door. If the hinges are on the right, it's a right hand door.

Mr.
The lockset was to be 5-1/2" spacing which would match my door, but the actual spacing on the lockset was 5-1/4" which presented a problem. I had to oversize the door hole to fix the problem. The latch opening also had to be elongated to correct the alignment issue. Spent a considerable amount of time to make the lockset work.

Gorgeous
We bought two of four of these for our garage and house and loved them. Unfortunately, our front doors couldn't accommodate these and we had to return them, but it wasn't because we didn't like them. They're heavy door knobs, well made, or as my husband would say, bullet-proof, and they look great with our contemporary home. Highly recommend both the door knobs and Direct Door Hardware. Great staff, great service, great product!

[productqa_] Questions and Answers

Question Can this product be relayed to match other door keys?
Asked by: Kevin - 11/16/2014
Question Yes we can key these alike any weslock product, or if you have existing Schlage products we can swap out the cylinders and key alike Schlage. Answer provided by:  Jake (11/16/2014)
Question what does the interconnect option mean?
Asked by: Eric - 5/12/2015
Question The interconnected option means that the lever or knob is linked with the deadbolt. So if the deadbolt is locked, you can exit the door with a single action by turning the knob or lever. On a standard set, you would need to unlock the deadbolt first, then turn the knob or lever to get out. The interconnected option is required by code in some circumstances, but home owners often upgrade as well, just for the convenience of it. Answer provided by:  Jake (5/13/2015)
Question Is this a mortise lock and is the exterior plate 17" and the interior plate at ;east 10"?
Asked by: Deb - 8/6/2015
Question The Weslock Woodward is not a mortise lock. The Emtek Melrose handleset is a mortise lock and looks similar. The outside plate on the melrose set is 18.5", the inside plate is 10".

Question how do you determine right or left hand handle?
Asked by:  - 10/2/2015
Question If yoou stand outside the door looking at it, if the hinges are on the right it is right. If the hinges are on the left, order left hand.

See our door handing page for more information Answer provided by:  Jake (10/2/2015)
Question The term "Interconnect", what does that mean and pertains to when ordering for double front doors that require a dummy side
Asked by: Tony bono - 5/5/2019
Question Internconnect has nothing to do with the double door set-up. An interconnect device would only apply to an single cylinder handleset. The device connects the lever latch to the deadbolt latch so that if the door is locked, a simple turn of the lever handle will unlock the door (rather than having to turn the deadbolt thumbturn to unlock, then turn the Lever handle to open the door). The interconnect allows for single action exit. You would not add the interconnect device to a dummy set. For a double door you would want to order one single cylinder handleset and one dummy handleset. Answer provided by:  Jake (5/6/2019)
