Order Help

Schlage lever handles are available in 4 different functions. Please review the descriptions below to order the correct Lever Handle for your application.

Passage Lever Handle Function Passage or Hall and Closet Door levers are used for doors where a locking mechanism is not needed. Passage levers are typically used for halls, closets, pantry or laundry doors. Passage levers do not have a locking mechanism.

Privacy Lever Handle Function Privacy or Bed and Bath lever handles are most often used on Bedrooms, Baths or Office doors where a lock for privacy while occupied is desired, but a keyed lock is not really necessary. Schlage privacy levers have a turn button on the end of the knob as shown to the left to activate the lock. A pin hole for emergency unlocking can be found on the outside lever. Some levers will have a pin hole inside a circular piece, some just have a small pinhole.

Keyed Entrance Lever Handle Function Keyed Entrance lever handles are typically used on exterior doors, but can be used on interior doors where security is a concern. Schlage keyed entrance levers have a push pin lock on the inside backplate, similar to a privacy lock. On the outside lever there is a keyed cylinder. If the knob is locked from the inside a key is required for entrance. If you are ordering several keyed locks of the same brand we can key them alike for you.

Single Dummy Lever Handle Function Single Dummy Door levers are sold individually. Dummy levers do not have a latch or mechanism of any kind. These levers are surface mounted to a door that has not been bored (large hole cut out) for a doorknob. Dummy levers are generally used on double doors that us a ball catch at the top to keep them closed so a latch is not required. They are also commonly found on the inactive side of a french door - a single dummy mounted on either side of the inactive door.

Schalie door lever
I wanted door levers to replace "hard to turn" door knobs, but ones that would fit with an Arts and Crafts house design. I chose the Sacramento Lever with in the Scalage selection because of looks, feel, and ease of opening with one hand. I had two levers installed professionally because of the existing lock sets and their different key arrangements. I am extremely pleased with the Sacramento levers. Many others have commented favorably about the clean look and functional design. Highly recommended.

[productqa_] Questions and Answers

Question Hi. this particular style came out with a new updated thickness on the lever. The newer lever has a thinner lever (old was thicker). Do you have the matching dummy handle (inactive) that is the older thicker lever or the newer thinner lever? Are you able to check the stock to see that both the passage handle lever and the dummy handle lever are in fact, identical before I order??? thank you

Question We only have the newer models available. The passage and dummy levers will be the same thickness. Answer provided by:  Jake L (2/22/2016)
