Order Help

Schlage lever handles are available in several functions. Please review the descriptions below so you can order the correct Lever Handle for your application.

Passage Lever Handle Function Passage or Hall and Closet Doorlevers are used on doors that do not require a locking mechanism. Halls, closets, pantry or laundry doors will generally use a passage leverset. Passage levers do not have a locking mechanism.

Privacy Lever Handle Function Privacy or Bed and Bath lever handles are most often used on Bedrooms, Baths or Office doors where a lock for privacy while occupied is desired, but a keyed lock is not really necessary. Schlage privacy levers have a turn button on the end of the knob as shown to the left to activate the lock. On the outside, there is a pin hole for emergency unlocking. Some levers will have a pin hole inside a circular piece, some just have a small pinhole.

Keyed Entrance Lever Handle Function Keyed Entrance lever handles are generally used on exterior doors, but sometimes used on interior doors where security is a concern. Schlage keyed entrance levers have a push pin lock on the inside backplate, similar to a privacy lock. On the outside there is a keyed cylinder. If the knob is locked from the inside a key is required for entrance. If you are ordering several keyed locks of the same brand we can key them alike for you.

Single Dummy Lever Handle Function Single Dummy Doorlevers are sold individually. Dummy levers do not have a latch or mechanism of any kind. These levers are surface mounted to a door that has not been bored (large hole cut out) for a doorknob. Dummy levers are generally used on double doors that us a ball catch at the top to keep them closed so a latch is not required. They are also commonly found on the inactive side of a french door - a single dummy monted on either side of the inactive door.

Nice Door Hardware
I bought this lever-style handle for my front door. I can't just go down to a local hardware place and pick one up since my door has a 5" backspacing. Luckily, Direct Door Hardware had what I needed and the styles and finish selection was nice. Thanks!

simple, classic, contemporary door levers
We ordered three of these for our bathroom, bedroom, and walk-in-closet doors in the apartment. They are stunningly simple and have a real sense of sophistication. A solid lever that feels like it is here to stay for a long while.

Just fine
We had other handles picked out and when we couldn't use them because we needed a round plate the service rep suggested that we get these handles as they were as close to our price point and look as the others. They are not as nice, but ok. I guess I had my heart set on the more modern ones I had picked out earlier. The downside to these handles are that they show fingerprints. The close nicely but just look ok in my book.

Mod Lever Handle
Very attractive handle. I liked it even more out of the box. Very clean lines, as opposed to some of the PoMO/EuroDesign Hotel levers out there. Only issue is we keep locking ourselves out of the house due to the functionality of the locking mechanism. Doesn't look as attractive during those moments.

Very Happy
It took us 8 months to find a lever we could live with. This was a new release from schlage and we liked it from the start. Great finish, smooth action and a comfortable grab. I just wish they had a complete handset for an entry door.

[productqa_] Questions and Answers

Question does the latitude lever back plate be had without screws on either side?
Asked by: bernard - 3/29/2014
Question The Schlage F-Series does not come with the concealed screws. Answer provided by:  Jake Lott (4/7/2014)
Question I was looking for a Dexter by Schlage Solstice entry lever, but found this one insead, which would do. Does 'entry lever' mean its okay for outdoors ? Also, can you get an entry lever in a dummy handle? We plan on having it on a garage entry door with a separate deadbolt for the main lock. thanks in advance for your response.
Asked by: Stacey - 4/20/2015
Question Yes an keyed entry is designed to be used outside. So it sounds like you want a non-locking lever to use with your deadbolt so that the only lock on your door is the deadbolt? For that you would use a passage set. It is very common to use a passage lever with deadbolt above instead of a keyed lever. Answer provided by:  Jake (4/20/2015)
Question I need door handles that are dead on both sides...no locks...I see Single Dummies and can use them on doors that only need one handle on one side. What the door handles are called that are dead on both sides?
Asked by:  - 9/12/2016
Question A dummy handle is one that does not function. There is no latch and the handle does not turn, it is used as a door pull on closet doors that do not latch, or on the dummy side of a double door. Is this what you mean by "dead on both sides"? The Schlage dummies are surface mounted and they are sold as singles. If you need a non-working handle on both sides of a door, you would buy two of them and surface mount on both sides. Because it is surface mounted, the Schlage dummy will not work on a door that has been drilled for an operational door handle. Answer provided by:  Josh (9/12/2016)
Question Does this come with the 5in latch as well? Or is it just the lever?
Asked by:  - 12/5/2016
Question You can choose the 5" backset from the backset options when you add it to your cart. It is available at an extra charge. Answer provided by:  Jake (5/8/2017)

Question can this item come with a square rosette in this color?
Asked by: Olivia - 8/27/2017
Question You can special order this with either the square Collins rosette or the Upland rosette which is square with decorative lines cut in it. Please give our sales team a call for more information. Answer provided by:  Jake L (8/28/2017)
Question We are trying to replace door handles that have a five inch backset (older wooden door). Will this lever handle expand to accommodate the extra length?
Asked by: Laura - 9/15/2017
Question Yes, just choose the 5" backset from the backset menu before adding to your cart. Answer provided by:  Jake (9/15/2017)
Question Can the Schlage Latitude Modern Lever Handle be purchased with a split finish? Satin nickel on one side (outside of bathroom) and chrome on other side (inside of bathroom)?
Asked by: Michael - 11/12/2017
Question You can special order it that way, yes. Just give us a call to order. The leadtime for the special order item would be 5-6 weeks. Otherwise, many customers just buy one of each finish and mix the parts so they don't have to wait. Answer provided by:  Jake (11/12/2017)
