How The Privacy Hospital Lock Function Works: Latch bolt by levers. Outside lever locked by push button in inside lever. Rotating inside lever, closing door, or turning emergency release turn button on outside, release push button. Inside is always free for egress.

Commercial door levers fit standard door prep of 2 1/8 Inch dia. bore hole with a 1 Inch crossbore. Standard latch backset is 2 3/4 Inch but other options are available up request (see option menus).
Schlage Tubular ALX Series Hospital Privacy Lock Function Commercial Cylindrical Lever
Hospital Privacy Lock FunctionMean that this lock does not use a key. Emtergency turn-button outside and push button inside. This lever uses a standard spring latch. Inside push button locks the outside lever. Turn inside lever or close door to release the locking button and prevent lockout. Outside turn button provides emergency access. Inside lever is always free for immediate egress.
The Schlage ALX Series is a grade 2 lock unlike any other. As a modular lock, it features a single, patent pending chassis design that supports most functions and all cylinder applications. The lock's ability to be configured on site to meet the functional need let's you avoid problems. You can do more with less, giving you an unprecedented level of flexibility to every aspect of how you use it in your business.

- Accommodates 1 3/8" to 1 3/4" door thickness with minimal chassis adjustment.- Captured screws in latch, strike and inside spring cage eliminate small, loose parts.- Field reversible Vandlgard® to non-Vandlgard locked lever engagement. Vandlgard® trim is specifically designed for highly abusive environments. The outside lever rotates freely up and down when locked, limiting the ability of vandals to apply excessive force to the chassis.- Deep-drawn spindle with 5 points of lever engagement minimizes droop and wobble.- Grade 1 Compression Springs- Accepts all Schlage plus five competitive cylinder formats.- Stainless steel latchbolt.

All Schlage ALX Series levers comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which requires that “Operable parts shall be operable with one hand and shall not require tight grasping, pinching, or twisting of the wrist. The force required to activate operable parts shall be 5 pounds (22.2 N) maximum.”
Life Safety
The Schlage ALX Series is UL listed for use on 3-hour fire doors up to 4'0" x 8'0" for standard latches, grade 1 latch performance options available. The Boardwalk, Longitude, Omega, Rhodes, Saturn, Sparta and Tubular levers levers comply with the California State fire code for return to within 1/2" of the door face.
Door Handing
ALX Series locks can be configured during installation to support any door handing. As a result, it is not necessary to specify handing during the ordering process
Schlage ALX Series Printable Spec Sheet
Schlage extends a 10 year mechanical and a 3 Year finish warranty to the original consumer. Finish warranty excludes Oil Rubbed Bronze finish which is a living finish and meant to change with use. All Schlage warraties are handled by the consumer directly with Schlage.
Schlage commercial can be returned within 60 days of purchase if the items have NOT been installed and remain in their original packaging. Before returning you must obtain a return authorization number so that we can get your credit properly issued. There is a 15% restocking fee on all returned Schlage hardware.
