What You Should Know About the Schlage Accent Lever:

Note: Schlage entrance locks have a turn button on the inside and are designed to stay locked unless turn button lock is disengaged by the user. Schlage privacy locks have a push button lock on the interior which is disengaged when the knob or lever is turned from the inside. Finish Note: Oil Rubbed Bronze and Aged Bronze are quite similar. We are noticing more people prefer the Aged Bronze because it has more of a glossy finish with a rubbed look. The Oil Rubbed Bronze is more of a solid matte brown color.

Schlage lever handles are available in several functions. Please review the descriptions below so you can order the correct Lever Handle for your application.

	Passage or Hall and Closet Doorlevers are used on doors that do not require a locking mechanism. Halls, closets, pantry or laundry doors will generally use a passage leverset. Passage levers do not have a locking mechanism.

	Privacy or Bed and Bath lever handles are most often used on Bedrooms, Baths or Office doors where a lock for privacy while occupied is desired, but a keyed lock is not really necessary. Schlage privacy levers have a turn button on the end of the knob as shown to the left to activate the lock. On the outside, there is a pin hole for emergency unlocking. Some levers will have a pin hole inside a circular piece, some just have a small pinhole.

	Keyed Entrance lever handles are generally used on exterior doors, but sometimes used on interior doors where security is a concern. Schlage keyed entrance levers have a push pin lock on the inside backplate, similar to a privacy lock. On the outside there is a keyed cylinder. If the knob is locked from the inside a key is required for entrance. If you are ordering several keyed locks of the same brand we can key them alike for you.

	Single Dummy Doorlevers are sold individually. Dummy levers do not have a latch or mechanism of any kind. These levers are surface mounted to a door that has not been bored (large hole cut out) for a doorknob. Dummy levers are generally used on double doors that us a ball catch at the top to keep them closed so a latch is not required. They are also commonly found on the inactive side of a french door - a single dummy monted on either side of the inactive door.

After searching everywhere in the California desert for a 5 inch backset and not finding anything, I finally realized I was at a dead end. Luckily, I found this website and ordered exactly what I wanted to update our 40 year old doors. I cannot believe how easy these were to install, I'm a 50 year old woman who's pretty handy, but a five year old could have installed these. I had about 12 doors to do and the job went very quickly. Solid lever handle works great

I have had these in my house for about 5 years now and just decided to make everything the same. These are good looking, feel great in your hand and are well made. Also, installation is very simple.

Does this lock have a thumb turn inside or a push-Button inside?

The Schlage Accent lever handle in the privacy function (bedroom or bathroom lock) is a push button on the inside. The keyed entrance lock for this lever has a turn button on the inside.

is this item available for an old mortise style door harware, if not are there any similar at a low cost?

Will this lock work on a door that is 2 1/2 inches thick?

Its broken, the little slit that was supposed to allow for the handle to be removed didn't release it, and now I'm locked out of my daughter's room! She is stressed beyond belief, and I don't have a drill to remove the entire ensemble. STRESS! Any advise?

If your daughters room has a privacy lock on the door, there will be a little pin hole on the end of the lever. You can use a generic tool that comes in the box, or even a hair pin or small slotted screwdriver to release that locking mechanism. The slot on the side of the lever used to remove the lever is not going to help you get in the door, that is just to remove the lever.

Is Schlage ORB a living finish? What is the metal content of Schlagedoor levers? Thanks.

Yes, the Schlage Oil Rubbed Bronze is a living finish. it will wear with use. If you don't want the living finish, but like the dark bronze color, order the Aged Bronze finish. Schlage hardware is mainly made of zinc with some brass and steel components. Answer provided by: Josh (8/3/2016)

Are these lever door handles reversible? Is there a model in this collection that has a lever handle and a knob for garage doors?

These levers are reversible. There are instructions in the package explaining how to reverse. The only function that requires handing are the single dummy levers which are fixed. Sorry, we do not have one that has a knob and lever mixed. But, you could order a Schlage F series knob and a Schlage F Series lever and mix the parts if you wish. I do not see any left vs. right option for Schlage SKU:F10-ACC Part# F10ACC619. In case of 'privacy' the shape of the level is different when installed on the left vs. right. In the case of 'passage' the bolts will be outside if the door is right hand handled vs when left hand. So how do I choose left vs. right when ordering?
