[productqa_] Questions and Answers

Question The slide on our trailer goes in front of our door. There is only 2 inches clearance so regular passage sets will not work. It is a conventional swing door. Will this privacy set work on our door?
Asked by: brian - 6/16/2018
Question This privacy lock won't work very well for a swinging door, but we do have a low profile lever set with a 1-1/4" projection Answer provided by:  Josh (6/18/2018)
Question DO YOU OFFER THE POLISHED STANLESS STEEL FINISH.US32D?
Asked by: Randy - 11/26/2018
Question

US32D is actually a Satin Stainless. Kwikset doesn't make it in that finish. They do make a satin chrome (26D) which is similar. Or you can order it in US32 which is a bright Stainless Steel. These options are in the finish menu.

Otherwise, a similar finish would be polished nickel. Click here for Emtek Pocket Door Lock

available in that finish. It does require a different type of door prep though, so if your door is already prepped with the standard bore hole, this will not work.

Question What do I need for latching a privacy bathroom with a double pocket door. I.e two slabs that come together. Each has a circular hole drilled in them that meet in the middle when closed.
Asked by: Kev - 1/23/2020
Question Hello,

The best way to do this would be if your doors weren't drilled yet, and you could install one of the higher quality mortise sets like the following link below. They just have a much sturdier latching system. You order 1 privacy or keyed lock and then just a dummy function set for the other door it locks into:

Since your doors are drilled already, you'll need to go with the tubular style locksets, but its the same idea, you would order 1 privacy function and one dummy function for the two doors. You just treat the edge of the dummy door as if it was the door jamb and your privacy lockset side door would lock into the dummy door. To browse the options available for tubular door prep, see the following link:
