Door Hardware Basics
Most door hardware will fit the following door preparation. If you have something different, please contact us so we can help you find exactly what you need.
If you want to impress your guests with the style and innovation of your home, look no further than Emtek for your handlesets. Emtek offers a lot more room for customization than other brands of door hardware, offering you plenty of flexibility and versatility so that you can bring your domestic dreams to life.
No matter what function your door needs require, Emtek offers a variety of options for style, providing you with vintage looks that will take you back in time as well as modern aesthetics that will keep you looking toward the future. You can customize your Emtek handlesets even further by choosing the perfect finish. Some of your options for finishes include flat black, medium bronze, and tumbled white bronze. When browsing your options, don't forget that you can also customize the door knob or lever for your handleset; you don't have to choose the one depicted in the sample picture.
In terms of function, Emtek offers Grip by Grip Handlesets, mortise handlesets, and tubular handlesets. Grip by Grip Handlesets, also known as double sided handsets, have the same full grip trim on the interior as they do on the exterior. They generally offer three possible functions: single cylinder, double cylinder, and dummy. Single cylinder Grip by Grip Handlesets have a turnpiece to unlock on the interior while double cylinder sets have a keyed cylinder on both interior and exterior. Dummy sets have no internal locking mechanism. Meanwhile, mortise handlesets have deadbolts that lock with a key on the exterior and with a turn piece on the interior, but they also include their own lockbox that most residential doors aren't built for. Most doors are prepped for tubular handlesets, which have two tubular-shaped latches: one latch for the deadbolt and one for the handle. Make sure you double-check the measurement requirements for your doors before purchasing any product.
Nearly all of the hardware in this collection is made of solid brass for long-lasting quality. Assembled and shipped from California, Emtek handlesets are available in a variety of functions, styles, and finishes that will leave even your most difficult-to-please visitors in awe.
