Emtek Wilshire Handleset is Available in the Following Functions

Single Cylinder Handleset
Emtek single cylinder handlesets are locked/unlocked with a key from the exterior and locked/unlocked from the inside of the home with a thumbturn. Single cylinder handleset are by far the most popular function of handle set.

Double Cylinder Handleset
Emtek double cylinder handlesets have a keyed lock on both sides of the handleset. This means that to exit or enter the door you must have a key to unlock the door. Some people use double cylinder handlesets on glass doors where they are concerned that someone may be able to break the glass and unlock the door from the inside. The disadvantage of using a double cylinder handleset is that in the event of an emergency you would have to locate the key to unlock the door and get out of the building. For this reason we recommend the single cylinder handleset for most applications.

Dummy Handleset
If you have a double front door where one side is generally inactive while the other is always active, you will need a combination of two handle sets. For the active side, you'll need a single or double cylinder handleset. For the inactive door, you'll want to order a dummy handleset. This gives you the look of a complete working set, but doesn't have all of the mechanisms - perfect for an inactive door.

Add On: Emtek Interconnect device
Emtek offers an interconnect device as an available option for their active handlesets. The interconnect device connects the interior lever or knob with the deadbolt on an emtek handleset. When you turn the knob or lever the interconnect device retracts the deadbolt simultaneously to unlock the door. This is just an added convenience that is available, but not required.

Emtek covers it's door hardware with a 5 yr finish and mechanical warranty. Living finishes are not covered under this warranty as they are designed to change over time. For more information see Emtek Door Hardware Warranty.

Emtek products are assembled per order so when they are returned the doorknobs have to be taken apart and restocked. As a result, there is a 25% restock fee on all Emtek products. If items are returned that have been installed, used or abused there may be a higher restock fee assessed or no credit issued. If you need to return an item, please repack the door hardware in it's original packaging to assure that it arrives undamaged. For more return information see our Direct Door Hardware Returns Page. Item is nice and looks good. However lever is a little short and also not very deep. The double iron door has a glass and my hands hit the door every time I open it. Wonder if the door can be with a lever that is slightly longer and comes out a little further so that my hand does not touch the door when I open it.

Very happy with this hardware given we manufacture most of our doors and require custom clearances, etc to make lock sets and handles work with our system. We look forward to doing more business with you--especially because you took care of some initial glitches promptly and effectively.

My husband said it was the first time he'd installed door hardware w/o having to try again and again, and, he's a carpenter. It looks beautiful on our door. We will be ordering more in the near future.

[productqa_] Questions and Answers

Question What’s the warranty on Emtek entry door sets?
Asked by: Troy - 3/8/2023
Question Emtek has a limited lifetime warranty on all products sold after April 2, 2012. Before that date they had a shorter warranty so items sold before then would be out of warranty. Living finishes are not warrantied as they are meant to age with use. If you have a warranty claim you would work with the dealer you purchased the hardware from. See more info at this link:
