Emtek Richmond Handleset is Available in the Following Functions

Single Cylinder Handleset
Emtek single cylinder handlesets are locked/unlocked with a key from the exterior and locked/unlocked from the inside of the home with a thumbturn. Single cylinder handleset are by far the most popular function of handle set.

Double Cylinder Handleset
Emtek double cylinder handlesets have a keyed lock on both sides of the handleset. This means that to exit or enter the door you must have a key to unlock the door. Some people use double cylinder handlesets on glass doors where they are concerned that someone may be able to break the glass and unlock the door from the inside. The disadvantage of using a double cylinder handleset is that in the event of an emergency you would have to locate the key to unlock the door and get out of the building. For this reason we recommend the single cylinder handleset for most applications.

Dummy Handleset
If you have a double front door where one side is generally inactive while the other is always active, you will need a combination of two handle sets. For the active side, you'll need a single or double cylinder handleset. For the inactive door, you'll want to order a dummy handleset. This gives you the look of a complete working set, but doesn't have all of the mechanisms - perfect for an inactive door.

Add On: Emtek Interconnect device
Emtek offers an interconnect device as an available option for their active handlesets. The interconnect device connects the interior lever or knob with the deadbolt on an emtek handleset. When you turn the knob or lever the interconnect device retracts the deadbolt simultaneously to unlock the door. This is just an added convenience that is available, but not required.

Emtek covers it's door hardware with a 5 yr finish and mechanical warranty. Living finishes are not covered under this warranty as they are designed to change over time. For more information see Emtek Door Hardware Warranty.

Emtek products are assembled per order so when they are returned the doorknobs have to be taken apart and restocked. As a result, there is a 25% restock fee on all Emtek products. If items are returned that have been installed, used or abused there may be a higher restock fee assessed or no credit issued. If you need to return an item, please repack the door hardware in it's original packaging to assure that it arrives undamaged. For more return information see our Direct Door Hardware Returns Page. Question interconnect device?
Asked by: craig - 1/19/2015
Question Yes, just select the interconnect option when you add to your cart. Answer provided by:  Jake (1/19/2015)
Question is this style handleset a "mortise" lock? If so do you have more detail about the internals of the operating mech. Looking to replace existing one with all new hardward and locks, but don't want to drill new holes. Have 3" thick door. Single cylinder key lock from outside. Help please
Asked by: LEC - 1/2/2016
Question This is not a mortise handleset. The closest mortise style we have is the Emtek Charleston:

The one problem is that this will only accommodate doors up to 2-3/4" thick. We don't have mortise handlesets that will fit a 3" thick door. Answer provided by:  Jake L (1/4/2016)
Question I am interested in getting the Emtek Richmond Entrance Handleset and was wondering if you can key it to match a baldwin key the I have the key code to? I have an Emtek now that is keyed to the baldwin key. Thank you chris bovone
Asked by: Chris - 5/11/2016
Question Yes, we just need your key code to be able to key this alike. Fortunately most Baldwin (except prestige series) uses the same Schlage C Keyway that Emtek does. Answer provided by:  Jake (5/11/2016)
Question Hi. will this work for a door that measures 3-3/16" thick? if not, do you have one you recommend? Also, there are multiple drill holes for the previous handle, two of which are opened to each other. I'm hoping to find something with a backplate that covers these holes and I can use new holes drilled specifically for the new handle. Thanks!
Asked by:  - 5/19/2016
Question I'm sorry we don't have any handlesets that will fit a door over 3" thick. I think you will probably have to have something custom made. Answer provided by:  Jake (5/19/2016)
