Emtek privacy locks have a privacy pin on the interior of the lever or knobset. To lock the door you push in the pin. From the outside of the door you are able to release that lock by inserting this tool through the pin hole on the rosette and pushing that same locking mechanism back out to the unlocked position. The Emergency Release tool from Emtek makes unlocking from the outside of the door very easy to do with it's ergonmically designed right angle bend in the tool and a flattened fingertip grip.

Please Note: Emtek has two styles of privacy tools, you will get 1 of the two types pictured here.  They both work the same, just look different.  We have no control over which type you will receive as they send they style that they currently have in stock.
