Drive-in ball catch
So happy with this. I went to all the hardware stores in my area and didn't find the right one. The one I ordered online arrived quickly and fits right on top of my door and keeps it closed.

The exact replacement part I needed
about 5 years ago we bought a hose with beautiful french doors to the home office. Somehow one of these broke and a spring was sticking up out of the top of the door. I ordered the replacement. It arrived on time and took less than 5 minute to remove the old and install the new.

Just what I needed and arrived on schedule
Replaced a sprung ball catch, and this fit perfectly using the supplied sleeve. Be careful to order the right thing... This is just the ball part that goes in the door and does not include the catch piece that mounts on the jamb.

Bought this to make repair for a customer. Turned out the broken one was larger diameter. I put the purchased replacement in my "can of parts" since it's really not worth spending the time or money to return. Switched to the magnetic type to fix the problem.

This ball catch is MUCH smoother than the one installed by the home builder. The pantry door now closes smoothly and stays closed. Service and delivery were prompt and the price reasonable.

Used as replacement for broken ball-catch, this was easy to install and works well. The threaded adjustment for the door clearance is a notable nice aspect of the design.

The ball catch appears to be well made and fits perfectly. The spring seems a little light compared to my previous ones, but it works well and holds the door securely. Longevity is the only question now. I'll probably purchase again.

Worked fine. The ones I got at Lowes were returned. The plastic sleeve ensures a good tight fit. The ones at Lowes didn't have the sleeve and were not wide enough. Also, the adjustment mechanism on the one at Lowes adjusts from the bottom. What good is that when you can't reach it after installation? This is a simple adjustment at the top. No instructions so I didn't realize there was an adjustment mechanism until after installation. The Lowes adjusted with a screwdriver, with a clearly defined slot. These were hand turned adjustments.

7/8 Inch Drive-In Ball Catch
The ball in a closet door popped free of the retainer. Tried several hardware stores and home remedies to fix. All failed ... then found EXACTLY what was needed at Residential Essentials. Photographs were sufficently detailed to assure me that I had a match to what was installed. The price was right and delivery very prompt. Installation was a 2 minute job and it fit perfectly.

Good replacement Set
Purchased as a replacement for the 'ball-catch' for the closet doors in a newer construction. The originals had the round ball fail (pop out) and could not be repaired. This part was the direct replacement. They are easy to install and work as well as the original. You remove the old and replace with new - no mess/no fuss. One may have to perform a slight adjustment in ball height, but other than than - great direct replacement.

Works Great
Thanks for carring these Drive-in ball catches. I have been trying to find them for quit some time to replace the old ones that came with the doors. Went to many DIY stores and they did not carry them. So a quick web search and found them on your site. Thank you for being there. I'll be back when needing another hard to find door hardware item. Very Pleased.

Question Are these adjustable for how tight you want the door to close?
Asked by: Martin - 3/27/2014
