Questions and Answers

Question What size holes are required to install this knob? Are instructions available? I have a 2 3/8" setback with a 1 7/8" DIA. hole for the knob and a 1" strike hole.
Asked by: Hans - 5/24/2014
Question This requires a 2 1/8" bore hole and 1" cross bore for the strike. However your door can be adapted to work with this knob and several other brands. See the following link on how to install modern door knobs on smaller bore holes.

How to install doorknobs on a smaller than standard bore hole Answer provided by:  Jake (5/27/2014)
Question I have 1967 home with hole diameters of 1 7/8". Mostly Dexter locks currently. Are the smaller knobs available?
Asked by: Brent - 2/28/2019
Question No one makes door hardware for smaller bore holes. 2 1/8" is standard. That said, there are some manufacturers locksets that do happen to fit with possible minor modification. We have an article about it on our website. Here is the link: Answer provided by:  Zach (2/28/2019)
