Sure-Loc lever handles are available in several functions. Please review the descriptions below so you can order the correct Lever Handle for your application.

	Passage or Hall and Closet Doorlevers are used on doors that do not require a locking mechanism. Halls, closets, pantry or laundry doors will generally use a passage leverset. Passage levers do not have a locking mechanism.

	Privacy or Bed and Bath lever handles are most often used on Bedrooms, Baths or Office doors where a lock for privacy while occupied is desired, but a keyed lock is not really necessary. Kwikset privacy levers have a turn button on the end of the knob as shown to the left to activate the lock. On the outside, there is a pin hole for emergency unlocking. Some levers will have a pin hole inside a circular piece, some just have a small pinhole.

	Keyed Entrance lever handles are generally used on exterior doors, but sometimes used on interior doors where security is a concern. Kwikset keyed entrance levers have a push pin lock on the inside backplate, similar to a privacy lock. On the outside there is a keyed cylinder. If the knob is locked from the inside a key is required for entrance. If you are ordering several keyed locks of the same brand we can key them alike for you.

	Single Dummy Doorlevers are sold individually. Dummy levers do not have a latch or mechanism of any kind. These levers are surface mounted to a door that has not been bored (large hole cut out) for a doorknob. Dummy levers are generally used on double doors that us a ball catch at the top to keep them closed so a latch is not required. They are also commonly found on the inactive side of a french door - a single dummy monted on either side of the inactive door.

Lever installed

Terrific buy and works great...just make sure when you order what they call antique bronze is actually antique bronze. This handle is really antique black.

Love this lever!

I looked everywhere local( greater Chicago) for an in-stock, clean-lined,but not too commercial looking for what I would call in design terms ' classic contemporary' and had NO luck. Either it was a 4 to 6 week special order or it was a cheap quality and poor design. This lever has a look and I think quality 2 or 3 times what it actually cost! I will purchase more in the future!

THis color is fabulous. We had a mid 80s house we remodeled and enameled all wood doors linen white. These handles are so great for the price. Look high end. The feel is solid as well. I especially like the color of antique nickel for my contempory home.

Good look and value

I installed them in an older home and had to do some work on the doors first - be prepared to use a drill and a special tool to make the hole to the right size for the handle. But besides that, great looking handles at a very reasonable price!

Are these lever sets stainless or is the finish rustproofed? We are considering these for use in our house in the Florida Keys where the environment is very tough on hardware that is not stainless or rustproofed.

The SureLoc Cedar lever is not made of stainless steel. There are four available finishes, all of which are plated finish on zinc material. The internal components are zinc plated steel for protection against corrosion, but I wouldn't say it is rust "proof". This is an entry level door handle and i would not expect it to handle the coastal environment as well as other stainless steel marine grade levers which cost significantly more. What is the distance the lever protrudes from the door surface? We need latches to fit a security screen door, up against an inside door and the clearance is 2" maximum or it will hit the other latch.

The picture for the oil-rubbed bronze shows up more as a flat black with silver, versus red or brassy, undertones. Is this true to the product?

This particular brand's oil rubbed is a bit darker with a greyish tone when new. The finish is mean to wear over time. But yes, i would say it isn't as redish or brassy as other brands. Answer provided by: Jake (9/23/2015)

Looking for a keyed entry for a door 2 inches thick, and the drilled holes right now are 2.5 inches apart above and below the knob hole?

Sounds like you have a commercial lock with the extra mounting posts. This lever will not have it and it will not fit a door that thick.
