CaviLock CL205D Privacy Pocket Door Lock with Magnetic Latch

The Cavilock CL205D is a residential grade, high quality privacy pocket door lock or they also work great on sliding doors. Once installed on your door the low profile lockset allows the door to slide completely into the pocket with a sleek flush profile. Two different face plates are offered so you must specify your door thickness when ordering. For doors 1 3/8" - 1 1/2" (33-40 MM) the standard faceplate is used. For door 1 9/16" - 1 3/4" (40-45 MM) a wider faceplate is required. The CL205D privacy lock can be configured to either manual latching or auto latching (door automatically latches when closed), which requires on site configuration. This lockset features a privacy snib and emergency egress on the opposite side of the door which can be configured for handing during installation.

- Specify 1 3/8" or 1 3/4" Door Thickness
- Deeper Finger cup than most brands with an easy to grab 90 degree angle edge.
- Built in finger pull on faceplate.

Had this installed in a solid core door between my brewery and the garage - great device, really solid. Based on my initial experience I would rate this a 5 star product. But, after a few months the only flimsy piece (the catch that mounts on the door frame ) broke. For the price of this device I would not expect this to happen. Based on that I've got to down grade to 2 stars.

Great Pocket Door Hardware and great service

Direct door hardware provided great service when we needed to exchange our satin nickel for bronze. The hardware itself is great due to it's deep finger pockets. My only complaint with the Privacy part is that the little lock nubbin that projects on the outside of the door isn't very attractive.

I need a pocket door lock that can be locked/unlocked easily from both sides. Can the CL200A do that? thanks!

The CL200A can be latched from both sides if you install it with the locking snib on both sides. I wouldn't really say it "locks" on both sides since the door can easily be opened from both sides when installed that way. Answer provided by: Josh (5/4/2015)

I would like to order 3 privacy and 2 passage of the cl200, but I don't see where to specify snib/emergency on the checkout/order on your website. Can you explain how specify that in order? Thank you. --tony

Tony,

The CL200 actually comes with a snib for both sides, you just don't install it on one side. So you do not need to specify like you do on Cavilock's CL400.

is the cavilock cl205 the same installation dimension as the older cl200a? also I'm looking for a cavilock that locks the pocket door but can be opened on both sides of the door. hope you can help me, thanks

I'm not sure if the measurement is the same as the old one or not. I'll paste the installation instructions here, it shows a cutout template.

As for locking on both sides, I don't think you'll find something like that. The functions available are either Passage= no lock Privacy=courtesy lock from one side and bi-parting= for 2 pocket doors that meet in the middle.

Can this lock be installed on a hollow door?

Hello, hollow core doors typically have some solid backing in the place where a doorknob would be installed. This lock can be installed on that type of door. If there is no solid backing in the location of the doorknob, it would be difficult to install Answer provided by: Josh (3/21/2022)
