Questions and Answers

Question Where arE these made? In the US or China?
Asked by: Allen - 5/14/2017
Question These are likely made in China. Most hardware available in the US is made overseas these days. Some high end brands are made here, although they likely get their parts from overseas. Answer provided by:  Jake (5/15/2017)
Question DO you have a version of a Ball Catch - Strike latch that can be used on a heavy duty EXTERIOR front door (wrought iron double front door). I have handle holes but no lever to keep the door in the closed position. Thank you
Asked by: KIM Nilson Kabbes - 3/20/2023
Question We don't a heavier duty version than this Baldwin Roller Catch, or the Emtek Roller Catch. That said, the roller catches are much more robust than a typical ball catch and it has a nylon wheel that is good for quiet operation. People use these on thick front doors all the time in lieu of latch mechanisms even though they really are designed for closet doors with dummy hardware. They are adjustable so you get the tension you want. I would say if your door is heavy, it isn't a bad idea to have multiple roller catches on the same door. 2 or 3 for increased tension to hold the door shut better.
