Door Preparation for Schlage Hardware
Schlage door hardware fits into a standard American style tubular door prep. If you are replacing existing locks then your door preps will most likely be correct for Schlage Doorknobs. However for your convenience we have posted on most Schlage product pages a diagram showing proper door preparation instructions for schlage hardware. Schlage products are very simple and user friendly, using universal handed levers you don't need to specify whether you need left or right hand except for a select few dummy levers. Also all of Schlage door hardware uses an adjustable backset that can be used for both 2 3/8" and 2 3/4" backsets.
