Order Help

The Weslock Colonial 1300 Handleset is Available in 2 Functions:

Single Cylinder Handleset
Single Cylinder handlesets are locked/unlocked with a key from the exterior and locked/unlocked from the inside of the home with a thumbturn. (most often used)

Dummy Handleset
If you have a double front door where one side is generally inactive while the other is always active, you will need a combination of two handle sets. For the active side, you'll need a single or double cylinder handleset. For the inactive door, you'll want to order a dummy handleset. This gives you the look of a complete working set, but doesn't have all of the mechanisms - perfect for an inactive door.

Double Cylinder Handleset
A double cylinder handleset has a keyed cylinder on the inside as well as the outside. This requires a key to lock or unlock the door from both sides. We don't recommend using double cylinder handlesets on main exterior doors because if there is any emergency, a key would be required to exit the home.

How to Determine Door Handingfor a Weslock Castletown Handleset

When ordering lever handles or handlesets, we'll need to know the handing of your door. Door handing is the direction in which your door swings. If you order the incorrect door handing you will either have locks on the wrong side of the door, levers that are upside down, or levers that point in the wrong direction and keep the door from closing properly.

how to determine your door handing
Follow These Steps:

step 1 Stand facing the door on the outside - If it's a locking door, stand on the side of the door where you would insert a key (or unlocking tool if it would be a privacy lock).
step 2 If the hinges are on the left, it's a left hand door. If the hinges are on the right, it's a right hand door.

Questions and Answers

Question I want what is pictured for this lockset, but what options should I select for a standard door? Also, instead of the interior knob, is the handle available?
Asked by: Helen - 11/21/2015
Question You'll need to double check how your door is prepped to verify that it is standard - not all doors are prepped with standard measurements. This set will fit doors that have two bore holes 2 1/8" diameter that are no less than 4 1/2" Center to center. There are lever options, see options menus to choose the lever style and finish you'd like. Answer provided by:  Jake (11/23/2015)
