Questions and Answers

Question If I ordered three of these could they all share the same key. This is for the EM2103US26-138?
Asked by: Natalie - 2/7/2015
Question Yes, we can have three of them keyed alike. Please call us to place your order or give us the key alike instructions at checkout on our website. Answer provided by:  Josh (2/9/2015)
Question I am on an iPad and suspect things Re not displaying accurately. I have need for a single side lock for a pocket door. The model I see on your site doesn't say (that I can find) if the profile of the face plate is flush when not in operation. I see a hook like shape and a pull. Are those like that when the door is in the open position? What do I order for a pocket door we wish to lock from one side only?
Asked by: Michele - 3/1/2015
Question I'm sorry, we do not have any pocket door locks that are single sided. These plates are just over 1/16" out from the door when mounted. You would want a privacy lock if you want it to lock from one side only, but it would have trim plates on both sides, just not a lock on both sides. Answer provided by:  Jake (3/1/2015)

Question This lock is pictured with the edge pull out and the latch extended to illustrate how the lock works. With the latch retracted, as it would be when the door is open, and the edge pull in, the face plate of the lock will be flush with the edge of the door. Answer provided by:  Josh (3/2/2015)
Question What are the dimensions of this?
Asked by:  - 6/4/2015
Question The plates are 2-1/2" x 7-1/2" Answer provided by:  Josh (6/4/2015)
Question Would you Please give all dimensions, including distance from plate to edge of door, etc.? Thank you
Asked by: Cathy Cooper - 6/5/2015
Question Measurements:

Plate Size is 2 1/2" x 7 1/2"
The recesses area is about 3/16" deep.
The backset is 2 3/16" which would make the distance from the edge of the door to the plate edge about 1". Answer provided by:  Jake (6/8/2015)
Question Hello. With the keyed option, is there a knob to turn the deadbolt from inside the room, and the keyed entry from outside? I am looking to use this for a home office, and will generally just be locking from the inside to keep out disturbances. However, when I leave for extended stays, I want to be able to lock with a key form the outside. Is it possible to do both?
Asked by: daPHNE - 8/17/2015
Question Yes, this has a key cylinder outside and a thumbturn inside, so it will work as you have described. Answer provided by:  DDH Staff (8/18/2015)
Question Can this mortise lock set be installed in a solid pocket door (MDF or wood)?
Asked by: Duff - 10/3/2015
Question A solid wood or MDF door would work great Answer provided by:  Josh (10/5/2015)
Question what is the depth of the mechanism that is mortised into the edge of the door? I need to know how deep to make the mortise. Thank you for your time
Asked by: Brian - 7/27/2016
Question The mortise box itself is 5.75" high and 3.5" deep. Faceplate is 8" x .85 wide. I'd probably wait until you receive the item with the template before prepping your door. Answer provided by:  Jake (7/27/2016)
Question My door is exactly 1+11/16". Which width lock would be appropriare, and would it work as expected(no binding, etc.)? How do I get replacement keys? Is the keyway standard(I.e. go to HD or a locksmmith)?
Asked by: Frank - 12/5/2015
Question You would need to order the 1-3/4" door thickness. The keyway is not standard. You would have to order replacement keys through us or another Emtek dealer. Answer provided by:  Josh (12/7/2015)
Question I have a double pocket door. 2 doors converging. How can I order this set for a converging pocket door? I would like it to lock on the inside
Asked by: lindazjunk@gmail.com - 1/4/2016
Question For a privacy lock (bedroom or bathroom) you would need to order a privacy function for one door and a dummy for the other. They will lock to each other when the doors are closed. Answer provided by:  Josh (1/4/2016)
